February 27th
More updates coming soon, including scans from Show magazine and some captures of Tara on Entertainment Tonight a few days ago if time permits (I have been really busy lately).
Someone contacted IFS and told them I was using one of their photos so I had to take the new enter page down and put the old one back up. I also won't be putting up scans from the latest issue of IFS anymore. Sorry!
Commercials for Stars On Ice on A&E this Saturday are now running. Also, the Office Depot commercial is being played a lot on the CNN news channels, as well as MSNBC.

February 25th
Tara is back home in Sugar Land. At pratice on Friday Tara was landing only double jumps, no triples. She will be skating in Stars On Ice when the tour starts up tomorrow, but I don't know if she will be doing all everything until a little later on.
Scans from IFS and Show magazines will be up tomorrow.

February 24th
After being down for a couple days TaraFans.com is back up and running. Make sure you give them a visit!

February 21th
Tara may be on Jay Leno tonight. The commercials airing today are saying she will appear on tonight show. If she is not on it tonight, then she won't be on it at all.
You can view some great photo's from WIC by John Kasko here.
Tara was on E! News Daily. She was in SLC in this big "tent" thing signing autographs. She was wearing a red-black striped long sleeve shirt and a black vest and her hair was curly. She talked about how she just arrived last night and how crazy it was... then they cut her off.
On the today show this morning, Michelle Kwan gave Katie Couric skating lessons. They showed some clips of Michelle skating, and Tara was in one of them.
Tara donated a signed skate to the Olympic Auctions section on the SLC website. She also signed a Stars On Ice program that is up for auction here. Thanks to Ryan.
Tara was mentioned in an article on Sasha Cohen...
''(Kwan) was my favorite skater, and I was kind of on her team to win.

''But when I saw Tara skate, I just totally agree that Tara should have won. She had an amazing skate. I think it's something that every skater dreams to have at the Olympics. She really did attack out there, where I guess you could say Michelle held back a little bit,'' Cohen says.

Tara was on Inside Edition tonight. You can view a capture below. She was interviewed at the premier of "40 Days and 40 Nights" and was wearing a black jumpsuit with a lace top. She talked about skating, and acting. She was also on last night. They talked about skaters injuries and showed some clips of Tara. (news credit: ryan, capture credit: betty)

Tara will have a minor reoccuring role on 7th Heaven, playing Ben's sister. She will be on Episode 126 and 127 ("The Ring"). She may be appearing on more after that but those are the only ones I know of right now. I have not found any confirmation from the WB, so I am not 100% sure this is true, but I am pretty sure it is.
I have added some captures of Tara on Fox Wire.

Tara was on CNN with Wolf Blitzer this aftenoon. She talked about the skating controversy and said two gold medals would be fine this time, but it should be a one-time thing.
There is a Tara Fan Club on Groups@AOL. To join go to http://groups.aol.com and search for Tara Lipinski.

February 10th
Injury Update: Tara should be fine in a week or so. She had an MRI and it didn't show anything abnormal. The lights were a little bit off that night and she got disoriented when she went into a salchow and fell on the side of her hip. Ever going to SOI after the break will get to see Tara :-)
Tara is on the cover of IFS Magazine! You can view some pictures from the photo shoot, along with a picture of the cover in the photo gallery. (thanks to Mandi and Jackie for letting me know) Oh yea.. these pictures were taken at Tara's house in Texas.
Last night, clips of Tara's Olympic long program were featured in a segment called "Advertising Olympians" on Access Hollywood on NBC. They talked about advertising athletes to get better ratings when they are performing in the Olympics. Also, on the Post Game show after the Olympics last night, there was more clips of Tara's long program too. I think that this is a sign that NBC will probably do a segment or something about her being that they are showing a lot of her Olympic clips. Keep an eye out. (credit: Jackie).

Tara didn't skate at SOI in Indianapolis two days ago or the show in Kansas City.
Tara is mentioned in a question and answer session with Katerina Witt. You can read the article here...

Q.Tara Lipinski might be the smallest skater in the history of the sport. Have you all ever tried to stuff her into the overhead compartment of the bus?

A.(Slight laughter.) No, that would be kind of a stupid joke.

Q.Do you ever look at her and think, "Just wait till you get older and you can no longer bend your body into a pretzel?"

A.No, not really. I look at her more with a smile. It's more like, "There's such a great career ahead of you." Everybody kind of has to go and find their own path. She seems to know what she's doing, where she's going.

Q.What do you think of the "Tara Lipinski rule." Because of her win in Nagano, Japan, in 1998, no one under 16 can compete in figure skating at the Olympics.

A.It's quite fair to come up with the age line. I think that is a decent age to be part of the Olympics. I think it's meant, in some ways, to support young skaters, to help them grow up before they have to compete, so they can have some longevity in their careers.

Here is some more info on the new Office Depot commercial. (courtsey of David)

This is carrying on the same theme as recent commericals, examples: Dick Clark shown when someone asks about an old record, or when the guy is dancing at the gas pump and Debbie Allen shows him how to move his body.

There's a fellow sitting behind a counter in a small shop with a TV on a countertop showing a skater doing a jump while the announcer is saying what a great triple lutz it is. The guy behind the counter says "Why do they call it a lutz?". Then they loop back and play it again with the guy repeating that "Why do they call it a lutz?" Instantly, Tara appears in front of the counter and says "Named after Alois Lutz, an abscure Austrian skater etc." Can't remember the rest but that's what I recall from seeing it at mid-evening. "

Tara will be at home in Sugar Land on the 7th and 8th before going to Salt Lake City. If you would like to mail her flowers you can order them from Colony Forist. Tell them they are for Tara and they will send them to her, you don't need her address. The address of the florist is....

February 5th

I have added some photo's from Stars On Ice by Andrea "Hoo" Chempinski.

Photo's from 2002 Stars On Ice by Andrea "Hoo' Chempinski will be added later tonight or tomorrow.
Tara is mentioned in a Michelle Kwan article in Sports Illustrated for Kids...

"Michelle's long program was technically solid but not daring enough. She skated a B+ program when she needed an A. Meanwhile, teammate Tara Lipinski skated like a kid set free in Candyland. Her performance was jumping, joyful and full of life. Tara took the gold medal. Michelle graciously accepted the silver, but she felt crushed inside."
Tara is featured on Time Magazines website, here.

February 3nd
Tara's hurt! She had a really nasty fall on Friday night during her American Tribute program in St. Louis and fell on her right hip (the bad one)....

"Tara fell REALLY badly on her Tribute number. It wasn't a normal "that didnt really happen, pop back up with a smile and go on" fall. It was a complete wipe out, she fell onto her chest/stomache and slid across the ice on her stomache with her legs straight out. She almost kept sliding into the audience right in front of me. She wasn't sliding fast, she was going slow, but she was really hurt, and not trying to get up yet. She laid there for just a sec then got up holding her hip and made and awfull grimace to her friend who was standing on the sideline next to me watching. She didn't immediately speed off into her next move either she sorta rounded the corner slower than usual and then went into the rest of her program. She looked really hurt, but she went into her next triple (sal?) and did it perfectly and didn't double or single anything that wasn't supposed to be for the rest of the night, so maybe she was not as badly hurt as it looked? I hope not."

"By the way, Tara apparantly injured herself at some point during the show. They cut her American Tribute final number, and she could barely move in the finale. It was painful to watch. My friend and I tried to figure out when she had hurt herself, but couldn't. She seemed fine in her first number (but I have to say, I much prefer Yuka Sato's number to the same song ...I think it's called Color of Roses). She then didnt' really do much actual skating until the finale. But she was obviously in pain, an could barely get around the ice. She was rubbing her hip when the cast went into the audience to shake hands at the end of the show."

- - - - - - - - - -

"I was there and she fell right in front of me. What made it a bad fall was that it was a forward fall--smack on her stomach and the front of her hip bones. If she was injured, she pulled it off without a hitch. She got right up and continued on and acted as though nothing had happened. I was worried about her hip though. But from my observation, I saw nothing wrong with her for the rest of the program. However, she fell on her Tribute program, so there wasn't a lot of show left after than. I sure hope she if FINE! "

Tara has a "baseball-sized" lump on her hip now. She is going to try and hang tough and do as much as she can at SOI before the Olympic break, then try to take some time off to heal for the second half of the tour. If you would like to send Tara a get well soon message, you can e-mail them to Brad at brad@taralipinskionline.com.

You can view a picture of Tara at the Galleria with a young skater named Alyssa below. Photo © All Star Figure Skating Team.

The photo gallery should be updated with a bunch of new pics within the next week. Also, some people asked me if I was accepting their photo's from SOI to put on my site. The answer is definetly. If you have any photos you took from SOI you would like me to put them up, just send them to me VIA e-mail at lipinski82@aol.com.
Some new SOI photos by Mike Mika are up on TaraFans.com.
Kasey has started a petition to get Tara on MTV (probably the show 'Cribs'). You can sign it here.
