The Injury, The Skating: A Summary...
Please, please stop sending me e-mails asking this. I am tired of repeating myself and sounding like a broken record. Here's what I know. These are just collected facts and quotes, blended into my opinions and guesses based on the information I have. Don't quote me on this!
During her Color of Roses program at Stars On Ice in St. Louis, Tara got disoriented by the lighting and fell on a triple toe, landing on her right hip. Tara got a bruise on her muscle that swelled to the size of a grapefruit. Tara thought she was okay, "I still thought everything would be fine. I had fallen before and I would fall again." The next day in practice, Tara did a couple triple jumps, and tore muscles around her hip. "The injured muscle shut down after the injury, and the other muscles tried to take the load but couldn't" so they tore. This was a new injury, one not related to her previous injuries and her hip surgery.
After a few weeks of therapy and healing, Tara thought she was better and began her normal skating routine again. Her hip was fine until early 2003. A few days before Ice Wars, Tara's hip injury started to flare up again and she was limping around after practice. The injury also caused Tara to fall during her "To Where You Are Program" at Ice Wars. This was Tara's last competition to date.
So what caused Tara's injury (the fall during 2002 Stars On Ice) to come back and start bothering her? Accoring to the doctors, when Tara fell, she almost broke her hip bone, and did not give her hip and the inury the time it needed to heal. Tara unknowingly rushed into skating again, which made the injury worse.... much worse, although I am not exactly sure what she has hurt to keep her off the ice for so long.
Tara has NOT quit skating. In Tara's own words, "I did not quit skating. I am just giving my hip the time it needs." Tara has not been skating not because she doesn't want to skate, because she doesn't like skating anymore, because she doesn't care about skating, only acting now, it's because her hip is still injured. Tara still skates for fun, but not competitively... she can't. I do not know what the extent or specifics of Tara's injury, but I know it isn't better. Out of the two statements, Tara doesn't want to skate professionaly, or Tara is still injured and connot skate professionaly, the second statement holds true.
I do not know when or even if Tara will be skating competitively again. It may be next week, it may never happen. I don't know, and I am not going to give an optomistic answer for everyone to hear, because it probably wouldn't be correct, and I would have no support backing the answer. Just know that Tara has not "abandoned" the sport. Tara does still love to skate, she still does skate for fun, but her injury will not allow her to compete or tour at the current time.
I've heard from a lot of fans who are really pushy about Tara skating again... give it a rest. Shouldn't you be glad that Tara CAN still skate considering her injury? Tara skates for FUN, and with her acting prospects and friends in LA, and overall career and accomplishments, shouldn't everyone, as fans, be proud of Tara? The most important thing, at least I think, is that Tara is happy... and she is, very happy. What else should matter? If Tara tried to perform right now, she could make her injury worse, and worse could mean Tara being unable to skate all together, how would that benefit Tara or her fans?
I will probably put this on it's own page of the website, and direct any questions to that page, because I will not be answering anymore e-mails I recieve on Tara's skating carreer.
Oh, and to those two or three people who keep telling me that they think Tara's popularity has faded and other skates are "the next Tara"... if you don't think Tara is popular anymore, than why are you visiting this website? I don't want to hear it, so save it for someone who does, ok?? I obviously still like her enough to make a website on her. Anyway, that's all I have to say on this topic, discussion closed.

Tara Will NOT Be Skating With Broadway On Ice
I knew this didn't sound right. Brad called up Tara today and Tara confirmed that she will not be skating with Broadway On Ice. Tara still skates for fun when she has time, but she will not be not appearing in any specials, tours, etc right now.
Broadway On Ice
Accoring to an article on Yahoo, Tara is set to skate with Broadway On Ice. I am not sure if the article is correct, but I have some doubts. This has not been confirmed by Tara or Brad. I will post any new information as soon as I get it.
The Bangage On Tara's Knee
I have been asked this question quite a bit, so I thought I would answer it here for everyone to read. Why does Tara wear a bandage on her right knee when she's skating? I always thought everyone knew what happened, but I guess not! In 1999, Tara overtrained in the gym and injured her right knee on an EFX machine. It took four weeks of rehab therapy before it healed. Since then, Tara always wears a bandage on her right knee just in case.
Tara Fashions
When I moved everything over to the new layout, I somehow lost the entire Tara fashions section. I am asking for everyones help in putting it back together. If you know where to purchase any of the clothing items Tara has worn, please send me an e-mail. Try to include as much information as possible like the clothing item, when Tara wore it, where to purchase it (online link if possible), ect. Thanks!

No Updates
There will be no updates for the next few days starting tomorrow, September 25, because we have to evacuate again for the hurricane. I am not sure when updates will resume... it depends where exactly the hurricane hits, how bad the damage here is, and how long we're without power. I hope anyone else who is in the path of Jeanne stays safe and dry!!

E-mail
I am having problems with my e-mail right now, everytime I try to read my e-mail, my computer locks up on me. So anyone who has sent me an e-mail in the past few days and has not gotten a reply, this is why. I'm working on fixing the problem, sorry guys!!
To Ryan... I wouldn't be able to get pictures off the DVD you were talking about, so you'd have to send in on the picture cd's instead. I will answer everything in your e-mail as soon as I can login without my computer freezing!!

Hurricanes
As everyone knows, there have been an insane amount of hurricanes this season, and I am getting a lot of e-mails of people concered with Tara's home. This update is going to be mass e-mail answering. I will try to answer every question I've gotten asked so far. Here's the deal with hurricanes...
If a tropical storm or category 1 hurricane hits South Carolina, there is no problem with Tara's house. They hit the coast all the time during hurricane season, and houses are strong enough to hold up to them. Tara's house is built very well, so it can stand up to pretty high winds. It takes very high winds to snap a palm tree (the ones around her house), and if winds get that high, there are ways of protecting a house against the trees. The problem with the larger hurricanes is the storm surge, which is how high the water of the ocean gets. Almost all houses on the beach are built on at least a 10 foot hill, plus the distance from the ocean to the water, so unless the storm surge is really bad, that won't be too much of an issue either. The storm surge isn't an issue at all with smaller storms. Larger hurricanes can pose a threat to Tara's home, but because of South Carolina's location, most strong hurricanes die down before they reach the coast. Houses on the south eastern coast are built to withstand these storms, so if a small hurricane or a tropical storm hits South Carolina, Tara's house will be just fine. No worries, ok?

I met Jessica Simpson
This has nothing to do with Tara, but I thought I would share. I went to the Jessica Simpson Superbowl Kickoff Concert in Metro Park tonight, that was airing on tv. I was with some of my friends, and we were wearing stickers from one of the local radio stations here, 97.9 on our shirts. They were giving the stickers out to people. Out of no where, guy comes up to us, that works for the station, and is like 'thanks for supporting 97.9, here's some backstage passes'. So before she show we got to meet Jessica (and Nick). Jessica is super sweet, tiny, and gorgeous! I talked to her for a while, because most people were either in "shock" and couldn't talk, or didn't know what to say. She's the coolest! The new Jacksonville QB, Leftwich, must be a happy guy, Jessica and Shania Twain have both worn his jersey. Not only is this is his first year as head quarterback, but football season has not even started yet.

Bad News Sports Fans
Tara has been in Kiawah for about two months now, and has not been to the Ice Palace even once. In fact, she has not been there in over a year (which makes sense, she was in Kiawah until August last summer). I know everyone is really curious about when/if Tara will be skating again, and I don't think this is a good sign. :(

Riddle Answer

You ask one of the angel what the other angel would tell you if you asked him for the door to heaven - and then go through the other door. If you ask the lying angel what the honest angel would say, you'd get the wrong answer, so you would through the other door. New Pics!
A bunch of photo's from 1998 Champions On Ice rehersals in San Diego have been added to the gallery. Most of these have never been seen before, at least full sized. Since they are small, I don't want to cover up the pictures in tags, so I am asking that you please do not use them anywhere. You guys also get a chance to see a sneak peek at the new photo gallery. Tara On ESPN25
I am not sure what happened to the updated I posted about this. Tara was mentioned on ESPN25, which counted down the 25 biggest sports controversies. The Tonya/Nancy incident was featured in the top ten. During that segment, a clip from an interview with Tara talking about the incident was shown.
Gallery Temporarily Up
I have decided that I will put the photo gallery back online for a bit. I am working on updating it and making some changes, but until I get everything in order, I will leave the gallery online for everyone. I am not moving anything over to the new layout, even though it would only take a few minutes, since it's going to be upgraded in a few days anyway. Enjoy!

I wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone who sent me an e-mail about the hurricane. It was really sweet of you to think of me and I appreciated it. My neighbor didn't keep her trees trimmed like she was supposed to (even after the neighborhood fined her) they all fell on the side of our house (they were small though) and caused some damage to the outisde of our roof and one of our skylights, but other than that, I'm fine... it was just another tropical storm. I hope everyone down in South Florida is doing ok! Thanks for thinking about me!

Photo Gallery Down
For the next week or two, the photo gallery will not be available. This has nothing to do with the new layout, but there are a few things in the gallery itself that have to be changed/fixed. Since the gallery is one of the most popular features of the site, I will work on getting it back up and running before I fix the pages that are currently unavailable on the rest of the site. Sorry for the downtime!
New Layout
As you can see, this site has a new layout. I was really sick of the blue layout (even though I loved it!) because it was up so long. Some of the sections are not yet up, but will be within the next week. I switched over to the new layout before I finished all the pages because I could not stand looking at it another day. I apologize to all the guys for making an almost all pink layout, but the last one was nothing but blue. I needed a change. I hope you enjoy the new layout, and please send me some comments and/or criticisms (don't complain about the color, I am not changing it) by sending me an e-mail or by signing the guestbook.

There will be no updates for the next few days (I am not sure how long exactly) due to the hurricane. I live on the beach (my whole town is no more than a mile or two from the ocean), so we have to evacuate tomorrow. There also may be some downtime with the site, because my server is located in Port St. Lucie, which is going to get hit as well, so the site may be down for a while. I couldn't say how long, because I am unsure about how long it will take to get fixed. I wish I could be more exact on everything, but it all depends on where the hurricane ends up going. I am working on moving everything to a new layout, so hopefully I will have that up very soon. See you guys in a bit!
